The 2nd Job and Entrepreneurship Fair #empleatCalvia19 will take place on 21st and 22nd March, following the successful attendance at the first edition organised by the Calvià Town Hall, through the Employment and Training Institute of Calvià (IFOC) in 2017, in which 2,000 people participated.
More than 15,000 applications were collected in the first Job and Entrepreneurship Fair in Calvià that opted for selection processes aimed at more than 550 jobs, which allowed 1 out of 7 people submitting their CVs to find work.
Novelties
This edition will have a series of novelties such as the intensification of technological tools to streamline and facilitate processes. Thus, both the applicants and the companies will use the IFOC's employment platform or the fair's website for all the previous formalities (www.empleatcalvia.com and gestionandote.com/agencia/ifoc), and will receive daily updated information through the IFOC's social networks.
Another novelty is the celebration in two different areas of job search processes and entrepreneurship meetings. On 21st March, the Galatzó sports centre in Santa Ponça will be available to locate up to 33 stands of companies, where selection interviews will be held to cover job offers from the municipality. On 22nd March, the Sala Palmanova will hold a day of conferences, thematic workshops and contact dynamics (speed dating and coffee break area) amongst the enterprising people attending, with the support of public and private entities that give support to the entrepeneurship throughout Mallorca.
Direct contact and New Technologies
The Job and Entrepreneurship Fair of Calvià was born in 2017 with the aim of publicising the job offers of the municipality related to the productive sector of Calvià, such as tourism, hospitality, catering, commerce, business services, etc., and to promote entrepreneurship through a participatory day open to enterprising people, whatever their employment status. All this, turning the event into a welcoming experience (that invites contact between companies, entities and people) and more human (replacing queues and agglomerations through new technologies and the promotion of interpersonal contact as a work proposal).
