II JOB AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP FAIR OF CALVIÀ
Hundreds of people attend the first day dedicated to interviews and submission of curriculums for the almost 500 jobs that are offered
The II Employment and Entrepreneurship Fair of Calvià offers, from today, a space for job search or improvement to people who are presenting their applications to the 485 jobs offered by the 24 companies that attend the event with 33 stands to respond to requests and conduct job interviews.
This edition has a series of novelties such as the intensification of technological tools to streamline and facilitate processes. Thus, both applicants and companies have been able to use the IFOC's employment platform or the Fair's website for all previous administrations (www.empleatcalvia.com and gestionandote.com/agencia/ifoc), and they have been receiving updated information daily through the IFOC's social networks.
Another novelty is the celebration in two different areas of job search processes and entrepreneurship meetings. Today, the Galatzó Sports Centre in Santa Ponça has been set up, where up to 33 stands of companies are located, in which selection interviews are being carried out to cover the 485 job offers received in the municipality, and which were visited by the Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the Regional Minister for Employment, Trade and Industry, Iago Negueruela, together with other members of the Town Hall.
Tomorrow, 22nd March, the Sala Palmanova space is reserved, where, with the support of public and private entities that give support to the entrepreneurship throughout Mallorca, there will be conferences, thematic workshops and contact dynamics (speed dating and coffee break space) amongst the enterprising people attending.
The Employment and Entrepreneurship Fair of Calvià began in 2017 with the aim of publicising job offers of the municipality related to the productive fabric of Calvià, such as tourism, hospitality, catering, commerce, business services, etc., and to promote entrepreneurship through a participatory day open to enterprising people, whatever their employment status. All this turning the event into a welcoming experience (that invites contact between companies, entities and people) and more human (replacing queues and agglomerations through new technologies and the promotion of interpersonal contact as a work proposal). At the Fair's first edition, 1 in 7 people submitting their CVs found a job.
A total of 485 jobs related to the main productive fabric of Calvià are offered today: 129 for catering, 100 for kitchens, 77 for cleaning, 53 for first aid, 41 for supermarket staff, 31 for hotel reception, 29 for maintenance and construction, 10 for tourist animation, 7 for leisure and free time, 6 for security and 2 for masseurs.
