Meetings with Calvià tourism business associations
The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has held various video meetings this morning with representatives of the municipality's economic sectors in order to talk on the current situation and work together on the recovery.
The meetings have been with the presidents of the hotel associations of the municipality and with those responsible for ACOTUR and ABONE, who have expressed their concern about this comming season and about the adaptations that will have to be made as we come out of this situation, both from the point of view of physical separation standards and visitors’ profiles.
Rodríguez Badal has had the meeting with the hoteliers together with the councilors Nati Francés (deputy mayor and spokeswoman for the Town Hall) and Marga Plomer (councillor for Citizen Participation), and the Coast and Tourism General Director of the Town Hall, Xavier Pascuet. In the meeting with the representatives of Commerce and Leisure, the councilors Marc López (deputy mayor for Commerce and Activities) and Francisca Muñoz (councillor for Commerce), and the general director of municipal Coordination José Antonio Fernández, have also taken part.
The mayor has expressed the Town Hall’s intention to walk hand in hand with social and economic agents for a recovery with the measures that have already been implemented (social measures, tax payments postponement, tables and chairs in public areas occupancy rates reduction, etc.) or those that are being studied such a discount on the rubbish collection rate, always within the limited possibilities that the local administration has. Thus, he has insisted on the relief that it would be for municipalities to be able to make use of the economic surpluses and remnants that they have.
He is scheduled to meet with union representatives shortly.
