BOTH, CALVIÀ TOWN HALL AND THE CONSELL DE MALLORCA WORK ON THE LOCATION OF THE PROVISIONAL MOBILE MOT STATION IN LANDS IN WHICH THE DEVELOPER CAN MAKE AN EARLY PARTIAL TRANSFER TO THE MUNICIPALITY
About 13.000 m2 of land located in an area of Magaluf in which a residential area is being developed for the future construction of houses
Calvià Town Hall and the Mallorca Council are currently working on a new location for the provisional mobile MOT station, in some Magaluf lands which in the future will be a municipal car park, the result of a urban use increase, due to the construction of houses. The plot has the entrance in the roundabout that is located between the roundabout that leads to the Cala Figuera motorway and the roundabout number 8.
At first, this location had not been considered since the deadlines for the reception of the entire residential area, including the future car park, were set in a few months. The work carried out by the Urban Planning and Infrastructure Departments of the Calvià Town Hall, as well as the predisposition of the residential area's developer, has resolved the possibility that a partial reception can be made, that is, only of the land and access from the roundabout, and thus advance the deadlines so that the mobile MOT station can be installed in two months.
The Consell de Mallorca has given the go-ahead to the new location, which continues to agree with the general interest, and will begin the modification of the agreement signed last Friday between both administrations.
The residential area's developer will accelerate the work on the adaptation of the future car park, which will not entail any cost for the Town Hall.
This new location avoids supposed nuisance to residential areas, since it is located more than 300 metres away from the nearest residential area. Alleged annoyances that when the Peguera site was specified, the Town Hall did not believe that they would be caused since the provisional MOT station will only inspect cars, not heavy vehicles, in a temporary space of 10 months.
