Monday 7th September 2020

CALVIÀ TOWN HALL LAUNCHES NEW TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMMES THAT ALLOW THE HIRING OF 48 UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE

Four mixed training and employment programmes began on 28th August, at the Calvià Training and Employment Institute (IFOC), in which a total of 48 unemployed people participate. Thanks to the four programmes launched by the Calvià Town Hall, it will be possible to hire 20 young people under 30 years of age and 20 people over 30 who, with the support of 8 programme management professionals, will carry out works of social interest in the municipality of Calvià.

The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the Deputy Mayor for Education and Training, Olga Granados, welcomed them, accompanied by the IFOC manager, Darío Espallargas. Rodríguez Badal has encouraged them to take full advantage of this year in which they will receive training and will also work applying the learning they will obtain, and that will help them to start or reintroduce themselves, at the end of the programme, in the labour market with new experiences and new expectations.

Mixed projects are programmes that combine theoretical training and practical experience, within the framework of the training and apprenticeship contract and are intended to improve the employability of the participants, through the acquisition of new professional skills. It is for this reason that, apart from obtaining professionalism certificates and work experience for one year, an individualised itinerary of insertion is also made for each student/worker.

TWO 'SOIB JOVEN' TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMMES

They have a duration of 1.680 hours, and allow the hiring for 12 months, of 20 unemployed young people, under 30 years old, registered in the national Youth Guarantee system and 4 project management professionals, registered in the SOIB.

ITINERARIOS CALVIÀ (CALVIÀ ITINERARIES): is the name of the project where the 'Guide for low and medium mountain itineraries' professionalism certificate will be given, complemented with level A1 of German. As for the service that they will carry out, it consists of collecting information on the state of conservation of public trails of interest to hikers, preparing route guides, analysing signs or carrying out group guide activities, amongst other actions related to trails and routes of interest to hikers throughout the municipality. They will also support the organisation and development of activities and events related to active tourism.

FORESTA: under this name we find a project that allows obtaining two professionalism certificates of Auxiliary Activities in forest exploitation and Auxiliary Activities in conservation and improvement of forests, as well as a partial certificate of auxiliary activities in agriculture. They will carry out forestry actions, such as clearing, cleaning and maintenance of trails, and security strips in urban and peri-urban areas of Santa Ponça, Costa de la Calma, Costa d'en Blanes, Sa Morisca Archaeological Park, Galatzó public estate and other areas of the municipality.

ONE SOIB 30 TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM ME

Also with a duration of 1.680 hours, it allows the hiring of 20 unemployed people, over 30 years of age, and 4 professionals registered in the SOIB, during a period of 12 months.

MEDITERRANEAN GARDENS: During this time, the student body / worker will be able to obtain the certificate of Auxiliary Activities in nurseries, gardens and garden centres and Auxiliary Activities in agriculture. They will carry out garden conditioning works in different municipal offices, such as police, municipal pre-education schools, senior citizens' centres, etc. They will also carry out agricultural tasks on the public estate of Galatzó and the urban gardens of Son Bugadelles.

INFOCALVIÀ: in the 12-month duration of the project, the student body / worker will be trained in the professionalism certificate of Administrative Activities in relation to the client, while they will be in charge of administrative tasks related to the needs of different municipal departments: User satisfaction surveys, surveys on healthy lifestyles of citizens, impact questionnaires, participation in municipal information campaigns or data mechanisation, will be some of the tasks assigned to the 10 participants.

To implement these four programmes, the Calvià Town Hall has received a grant of 877.440,00€ granted by the Regional Ministry for Economic Model, Tourism and Labour, which has funds from the Sectorial Conference.

During the course of the programme, the student-worker will receive training in labour insertion and job search techniques, computer literacy, awareness of equal opportunities and languages in some of the projects. Precisely these complementary training will allow the hiring of three more teachers, specialists in each subject. It should be noted that training in new technologies will have an important weight from the first day, since the intention of the Town Hall is to train participants to face with competence a possible period of online training. To this end, and so that the programmes do not stop, training plans are implemented in virtual environments and the provision of computer material is provided to students who need it.

Furthermore, at the end of the 12 months, the IFOC will make available to the participants the necessary resources to promote their employment, including the municipal employment agency and the guidance and attention services for entrepreneurs.

On the other hand, the IFOC pays special attention to keeping the social distancing measures to guarantee the health of all the participants: face mask, reduction of ratios, adaptation of training spaces, safety distance and hand washing are some of the mandatory measures that have been implemented at IFOC to respond responsibly to the demands imposed by Covid-19, without which it would not be possible to carry out face-to-face training activities.
