Tuesday 22nd September 2020

IDENTIFIED THREE PEOPLE CIRCULATING THROUGH CALVIÀ WHO SHOULD BE ACCOMPLISHING CONFINEMENT IN PALMA

Two of them make their living as junk dealers

The Calvià Local Police have carried out various traffic controls in the last week and have identified three people who had skipped the partial confinement that has been issued for some streets in Palma. Two of the people sanctioned work as junk dealers and circulated through Santa Ponça, and the other one was identified in Punta Ballena. In total, eight sanctions have been lodged for not wearing a face mask to passengers of vehicles that are not living together, in one case to two people who were inside the car with the doors open. In addition, the police immobilised the electric scooter of a driver who they fined yesterday at 3.30 a.m. for driving it under the influence of alcohol.

In reference to the prohibition of smoking on public roads, the Calvià Local Police officers have lodged three fines in the last seven days, one in the Son Bugadelles industrial estate and the other two to young people who were smoking on the beach.

Regarding the use of face masks, there is an increasing generalised compliance with the norm. However, in the last week 17 administrative records have been drawn up for not wearing a face mask. The sanctions have been lodged in Palmanova, Santa Ponça, Magaluf and near Es Generador youth centre in Son Caliu. In addition, five young people who were on the beach outside the allowed hours have also been fined. Likewise, the police have had to act because five British tourists disturbed public order in Magaluf with an attitude contrary to the civility required, in addition to not wearing a face mask.

On the other hand, the officers have drawn up an administrative record of an Italian restaurant in Costa de la Calma for being open at 1.40 at night in breach of closing hours and having customers at the bar. Four people from a bar in Son Caliu have also been sanctioned for not wearing a face mask, one is a waitress and three billiard players.

Finally, thanks to neighbourhood collaboration in Illetes, the Calvià Local Police were able to act quickly on Saturday morning alerted that a man was attacking his roommate. Upon the arrival of the officers, they found the woman with injuries in her neck. The Civil Guard of Calvià transferred the woman to the medical centre and is now in charge of this case of gender violence.
