Katas champions prepare Olympic Games in Calvią

The Galatzó sports centre welcomes the candidates for Karate medals at the Tokyo Olympic Games

Welcoming ceremony for the Katas absolute national teams, current European champions, and the two number one in this modality, Sandra Sánchez and Damián Quintero, who are preparing thmeselves at the Galatzó municipal sports centre, for their participation in the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The event was attended by the mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal; the deputy mayor for Sports, Eva Serra; the insular manager of Sports, Marga Portells; the manager of Fundació per l'Esport Balear, Toni Muñoz, and the president of the Balearic Karate Federation, Jesús del Pozo. In addition, the European parakarate champion, the Mallorcan Esther de León, was present.

Calvià will also be the scenario of the Mallorca Karate CliniC Pre-European that will be held with the Cadet, Junior and Under-21 categories, jointly organised by the Royal Spanish Karate Federation, the Balearic Islands Karate Federation and Calvià Town Hall.

The expedition in the Mallorca Karate CliniC will be made up of about 70 people, amongst athletes selected by their respective regional Federations, together with the technical team of the RFEK and DA.

The teams stay in the Senses chain hotels in Palmanova and Santa Ponça.
