Over the last year, a total of 48 people, 40 as student-workers and 8 professionals (management, teaching and administrative support staff), have participated in the training and employment programmes SOIB JOVE and SOIB30, managed by Calvià Town Hall, through the IFOC, with the participation of the SOIB.

The aforementioned programmes, which have carried out an important task carrying out works or services of social interest, thus allowing 40 people to benefit from professional training for employment, end on 27th August.

During these 12 months, Calvià Town Hall has managed the four training and employment programmes, in its two modalities: SOIB JOVE aimed at people under 30 years old, beneficiaries of the Youth Guarantee programme and SOIB30 aimed at people over 30 years old, all of them unemployed.

These four programmes have a total cost of 971.432,43 €, of which 93.992,43 € are municipal contributions and 877.440,00 € correspond to the subsidy granted by the Balearic Islands Employment Service (SOIB) with funds from the Sectorial Conference on Employment and Labour Affairs, the SEPE, the Youth Guarantee and the European Social Fund.

During the course of the programme, the student-worker has also received training in job insertion and job search techniques and in raising awareness on equal opportunities.

Currently, all participants are registered in the IFOC Employment Agency for their job insertion to be as fast and effective as possible. Eight of the participants have already found work.
The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodriguez Badal, the deputy mayor for Education and Employment, Olga Granados, the IFOC manager, Darío Espallargas, and the director of SOIB, Pilar Ortiz, wanted to accompany them on this special day to wish them luck in the new path they are taking. Mayor's statements
