CALVIÀ COMMEMORATES INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY WITH THE CELEBRATION OF THE CREACTION CALVIÀ 2022 FESTIVAL
The event, which will take place on Saturday, will feature different activities and musical performances by the Musicalvià winners and the DJ's of 40 Club Session
On the occasion of International Youth Day, the Calvià Town Hall's Youth Department has organised the Creation Calvià 2022 Festival, to take place on Saturday 13th August, at El Molino fairgrounds in Santa Ponça.
The deputy mayor for Participation and Youth, Marga Plomer, has pointed out that "this way we recover a traditional Calvià festival for our youth after the pandemic, with the aim of meeting again, sharing experiences and enjoying the young talent that we have in our municipality". Plomer added that «Calvià is a benchmark municipality in terms of youth involvement in culture and sports. This festival was a reference meeting point for many young people, musicians, skaters, which needed to be recovered after the pandemic. From the Town Hall we have listened and hence the recovery of the Creation Festival, a consolidated festival that will surely be a success for another year».
The event, which will feature various activities, will have music as its main axis, which will begin at 7 p.m. with the performances by the winners of the Musicalvià 2022 young talent contest: Twelve, Gernika, MCK, Brish, Bosc and 7 Pisos. At 10 p.m., the musical performances will continue with the 40 Club Session that will feature performances by different DJs from the 40 Principales such as Cristian San Bernardino, Tapo y Raya, Gaspar Sampol and Jesús Taltavull.
The fairgrounds will open doors at 6.30 p.m. with climbing wall, pole fitness and surfskate activities; and there will be body painting, live murals and decoration of caps and fans points, as well as inflatable attractions, a market area and a bar.
In parallel, there will be a scooter competition, by APRoller, and a skate competition, by Kingdom and Shine, at the skatepark. The scooter and skate awards ceremony will take place at the skatepark at 9.30 p.m. and 11.30 p.m respectively.
