Once again, the Town Hall will be present at the German tourist fair, where both, the ICAN Peguera and the project Sol Calvià Resort will be presented and in which they will inform of the municipality´s wide tourist offer.
Calvià will be present, once more, at the ITB Berlin. The Town Hall and the Hotel Associations in the municipality will share the stand at the tourist fair, which will take place in the German capital and in which the municipality´s wide tourist offer will be presented.
The presentation of two projects of interest for the municipality of Calvià, one from a private initiative and the other from the Town Hall, will be carried out throughout the three days of duration of the fair, such as the ICAN Triathlon Peguera sport event and the Sol Calvià Resort.
The ICAN Peguera, which was presented in the Town Hall last January, means an initiative to destationalise the tourist season, as it is stated in the agreement, the carrying out of various sport events at the end of the high season, which outstands the ICAN Triathlon, a sport event with international recognition.
On the other hand, the hotel chain, Melià Hotels Internacional, will also inform of the Sol Calvià Resort project, declared of Regional Interest by the Balearic Government, at the German capital where it is expected a great acceptance from the German market.
The Berlin´s tourist fair is, with no doubt, the best showcase to continue with the promotion of the athletics track and the natural turf football pitch which have meant a qualitative step forward within our municipality´s complete map of sport facilities. Also, the Town Hall continues with the task of promoting other Calvià´s tourist attractions such as, the Galatzó Public Estate, unique enclave for hikers or cyclists.
The Town Hall will also inform of the 180,000€ economic help, which will continue to be given to the Hotel Associations in the municipality with the aim of developing the programme "Calvià, el inivierno europeo", which is carried out during the months of January, February, March, April and in October, November and December and in which the hotels design all kind of actions to be taken, addressed to all those tourists visiting us during the low season months.
The promotional task is, in these moths of economic crisis, the most important thing ever, and therefore, the Mayor of Calvià, Manuel Onieva, the Director for Tourism, Patricia Domínguez, and the Head of the Tourism Department, Cristian Alfaro, have travelled to the capital of Germany to promote both, Calvià as a destination and its varied offer to be enjoyed throughout the year.
