The Calvià Town Hall, through the Culture department, has presented a new plastic arts project for the municipality under the name of BetArt.
The Calvià Town Hall, through the Culture department, has presented a new plastic arts project for the municipality under the name of BetArt.
The idea, pioneer in the Balearics, starts with 5 main objectives such as:
Carry out artistic interventions taking art to the street in order to find the interaction and the dialogue with both, the resident and the visitor.
Guarantee the participation of creators of the municipality.
Create synergies amongst creators and public and private entities
Promote a new meeting space amongst artists, people interested in art and citizens in general.
Add value to the municipality of Calvià creating new tourist attractions and embellishing private and public spaces.
BetArt starts from the dialogue carried out between the artists and the Calvià Town Hall to give an answer to a new era in which art comes out to the street in order to be enjoyed by everyone and promote the role of the resident artist.
The project´s first step contemplates the carrying out of seven interventions throughout the municipality. The participating artists of the municipality are: Javier Garló, Antoine Garló, Adrián Rubio and David Collado, Shik and Boamistura, Ramón Pérez Sendra and Santiago Morilla come from the mainland.
The walls to be painted during the BetArt 2012 are: the Palmanova´s Services Centre: Santiago Morilla; the Cas Saboners Public School + the Calvià Endesa´s booth + the es Capdellà Endesa´s booth: Boa Mistura; the Galatzó´s sports hall: Javier Garló; the IES Calvià Secondary Education School: Antoine Garló and David Collado; and the Cas Saboners Apartments: Ramon P. Sendra.
