The recipients of the project, which will be extended for a year, are those over 25-year-old people with labor insertion difficulties.
The Calvià Town Hall, through the Calvià´s employment agency (IFOC), starts up this forthcoming Friday a new Employment workshop "Horts Ecològics", (Ecological vegetable gardens), approved by the Regional Minister for Education, Culture and Universities, as president of the Soib, which main aim is to form people in the proficiency certificates of: Auxiliary Activities in gardens and garden centers and Production of ecological Vegetables. The activity will be developed, mainly, at the municipal garden center located at the Son Bugadelles industrial estate.
The recipients of this project, of one year of duration, are 8 people over 25 years old with labor insertion difficulties, who are interested in learning a trade at the same time they are giving a service in benefit of the community. These pupils-workers are employed by the Calvià Town Hall from the first day and whom will take advantage of both, a combination of education and practice, allowing them to specialise in a trade for thus, achieve their labor insertion.
The main objective of this “Horts Ecològics” new employment workshop is, the promotion of the ecological agriculture in the municipality, every day more in demand by the citizens, ableing them to find new leisure and economic activity fields, such as the urban and ecological vegetable gardens, respectful with the environment.
This project will be carried out thanks to the participation of the SOIB (Balearic Islands Employment Service Agency) and the joint financing of the State Employment Service Agency (SESA) and the European Social Fund (ESF).
