In search of increasing the winter tourism, the municipality widens its sports offer with the signing of an agreement to hold a sport competition of international impact.
Today, the Calvià Town Hall has given another step forward within its fight against the tourist seasonal standstill after the signing of a four-part agreement through which the K-42 Mallorca-Peguera of a remarkably international interest will take place.
The K42 is a worldwide renowned mountain athletic race, with events in Costa Rica, Peru, Holland, Portugal, Brazil, Chile and France, which consists in running a mountain race and, in this sense, the Galatzó Public Estate, starting point of the event, constitutes an ideal setting for this type of events.
The municipal responsibles are very pleased with today´s signature, as it is another value added to the wide sports offer existing in the municipality, such as the Magaluf International Marathon (which, from this year, will take place in March), the triathlon etc. In fact, the collaboration in Calvià amongst the private companies and the Town Hall is which is achieving the optimisation of resources and to undertake projects capable of lengthening, to the extent possible, the tourist season.
Also, in this sense, it is to be highlighted the fact that the organisers of this event had chosen Calvià, and specifically the Galatzó Public Estate´s natural environment, to hold the event.
