The IFOC signs a collaboration agreement with the NGO for the donation of ecological vegetables which are cultivated in the municipal garden centre of Son Bugadelles.
The training and employment agency of Calvià, (IFOC) has signed a collaboration agreement with the NGO Mallorca Sense Fam for the donation of ecological vegetables which are cultivated in the municipal garden centre of Son Bugadelles through the Employment Workshop "Horts Ecològics" (Ecological Vegetable Gardens).
The participants of the Employment Workshop are over 25-year-old unemployed people, with limited professional training, and who during a year (November 2012-2013) are under a contract to carry out a training-employment programme, approved and cofinanced by the Balearic Islands Employment Service Agency (SOIB), the State Employment Service Agency (SEPE) and the European Social Fund.
The qualification achieved by the pupils-workers once finishing the programme is:
-Certificate of Proficiency in Auxiliary Activities in Gardens and Garden Centres
-Formative Speciality in Production of Ecological Vegetables.
Thus, promoting the ecological agriculture in the municipality, every day more in demand by the citizens, ableing them to find new leisure and economic activity fields, such as the urban and ecological vegetable gardens, respectful with the environment.
With this gesture, the Calvià Town Hall wants to collaborate with the mission that Mallorca Sense Fam carries out since 2009: distribute food to the most needy families and make the Majorcan society aware of the importance of solidarity and especially in these difficult economic moments.
