The Calvià Town Hall has been awarded with the 'Menina' prize of the Balearic Islands for the Service given from the consistory to both, the Minors and Women victims of Gender Violence.
The award, received from hands of the Government's Delegate, Teresa Palmer, "recognises the work of local, national or international institutions and private individuals, who throughout the year fight relevantly and outstandingly against gender violence".
The Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare and Health, Cristina de León, showed her satisfaction for this prize "which means a recognition to the work that we are carrying out from the Department of Social Services during the year not only in the fight against gender violence but also in the service given to those people who suffer this problem".
The prize-giving event was held this morning at the Government Delegation premises on the Balearic Islands.
