The consistory, together with Melià Hotels, presents at the WTM of London its bet for a family and sport tourism for Magaluf apart from the creation of a Beach Promenade of 10.000 square metres in the area.

The Calvià Town Hall's Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Eugenia Frau, together with the Consultant of Melià Hotels Internacional, Gabriel Escarrer, have presented at the WTM of London their bet for a family and sport tourism for Magaluf, area which image has been damaged this last Summer. Also, they made public the construction of a Beach Promenade of 10.000 square metres which will connect the second line hotels with the nerve centre of said tourist enclave. With regards to this construction Eugenia Frau highlighted that the "90% is aimed at the influx of pedestrians".

On the other hand, the Deputy Mayor for Tourism recalled that the main objective of the tourist development programme of Calvià is to ''extend the Summer season with the promotion of sport, culture and gastronomic activities during the low season". Also, Frau has taken the advantage to highlight that the different tourist areas of Calvià represent approximately the 22% of the tourists that come to Majorca yearly.
