The Balearic Government and the Town Halls of Palma and Calvià promote the meeting in order to put in common projects, initiatives and experiences

The Calvià Town Hall held on Tuesday the first meeting about transparency and report of accounts which has gathered responsibles and technicals of the Regional Government and the Town Halls of Palma and Calvià.

The main objective of the session, which the Mayor Alfonso Rodríguez Badal opened, is to hold the first working meeting amongst the technical and political teams of these institutions, in order to present themselves and improve the common knowledge of the activities which are being carried out and those to be undetaken.

 

In conclusion, it has been agreed to continue with periodical meetings and create a specific Network of exchange of knowledge and experiences which will lead the Regional Government and in which can join other local and insular administrations with the help of the FELIB.

 

The Deputy Mayor for Economy, Employment and Innovation, Mª Carmen Iglesias, stated that the Transparency is one of the key subjects of this legislature, not only for the electoral commitment of the parties which make up the institutions'government teams but also because it means the achievement of a citizenship right, and a change in the relationship between the administration and the citizens. In this sense, and in the specific case of Calvià, she recalled that important efforts have been made in these two months in order to accomplish with the commitment: it has been created a General Directorate for Transparency and Report of Accounts, it is working in the Transparency website, and they have been published in the web, as a first step and for the first time, the organization chart and the salaries of the consistory's political and managerial teams.

 

The Deputy Mayor of Calvià, the general director for Transparency and Participation of the Regional Government of the Balearic Islands, Miquel Gallardo; the councillor for Citizen Participation of Calvià, Fernando Alcaraz; the Palma Town Hall's director general for Public Service and Interior Government, Verónica Arteta, the director general for Transparency and Report of Accounts of Calvià, Jaime Tovar, and the director general for Citizen Participation and Youth of Calvià, Juan Antonio Marcos, attended this first meeting, amongst others.
