THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL INVOLVED WITH OVER 45 YEAR OLD UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE
The Mayor of Calvià held a meeting with representatives of the Association of Major Unemployed People for the Employment of the Balearics
The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, held a meeting with representatives of AMPEB, the Association of Major Unemployed People for the Employment of the Balearics.
The attendee informed the Mayor of the specific problems which affect the over 45 year old unemployed people of the Balearic Islands and they explained him the guidance task and even the psychological support which is undertaken from the association. At the meeting, they brought dramatic situations up which are given in some specific cases, and they expressed the added difficulties which mean for the unemployed to live such a delicate situation.
The Calvià Town Hall will collaborate with said entity. In fact, the Mayor has commited to cede a premises so they can undertake their meetings in the municipality, and he also confirmed that the Town Hall will join the initiatives carried out by the SOIB (Employment Service of the Balearic Islands) for over 45 year old people, presenting specific proposals for the municipality.
AMPEB is a non profit association which arises from a situation of social exclusion which suffer more and more the over 45 year old unemployed people from the islands. The main objective of the entity is to give support to this group in the search of employment, give moral and logistical support to the associated, and suggest proposals to the public administrations, business and union organisations and other social entities to give visibility to the problems of the marginalised group in numerous occasions only because of their age.
The meeting was attended by Jorge Joaquín Mandado, coordinator and vice president of the association; Federico Cerro, member of the board of directors; Francisco José Castillo, chair and person in charge of institutional relations; and Andrés Andrino, associated. On the part of the Town Hall also attended the meeting Mª Carmen Iglesias Manjón, Councillor for Economy, Employment and Innovation.
