The Calvià Town Hall participated in a European Senior Tourism 'workshop', addressed to the over 55-year-old people collective

The Calvià Town Hall attended a working session held in Crete (Greece) organised by the Sociedad Estatal para la Gestión de la Innovación y las Tecnologías Turísticas (State Company for the Management of the Innovation and the Tourist Technologies) (SEGITTUR) in collaboration with the Greek tour operator 'Travel Factory'. The tourist resources of the municipality were informed at the workshop within the framework of the international tourism programme “Europe Senior Tourism”

The European Senior Tourism programme is addressed to the over 55-year-old people collective, and contributes to the deseasonalisation, as the trips are undertaken in the mid and the low season, specifically between October and May. Calvià is an authorised destination for the 2015/2016 season.

 

The 'workshop' took place in Heraklion on the island of Crete during 3rd and 4th December. Calvià attended the workshop to promote the municipality in this market sector along with other Spanish destinations. There were presentations of seven different destinations: Calvià, Calella, Minorca, Salamanca, Salou, Toledo and Vigo.

 

The tour operators and travel agencies which attended the workshop came from Belgium, Cyprus, Slovakia, Greece, Italy, Holland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia and Turkey. Furthermore, there was a representation of the airlines Iberia, Volotea and Aegean.
