Every Friday during the month of April, in the different coastal areas of Calvià, with the participation of 60 restaurants
A NEW EDITION OF THE MOSTRA DE CUINES OF CALVIÀ STARTS
Vicky Pulgarín and Juan Pinel perform a show-cooking to present the days in which 60 establishments of the municipality will participate during the month of April.
The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has presented a new edition of the Mostra de Cuines de Calvià (Gastronomic Display of Calvià) which starts tomorrow 8th April and will take place every Friday until the end of the month in the different areas of the municipality.
The presentation event took place in the gardens of the Town Hall and has counted with the presence of the winner of the second edition of MasterChef, Vicky Pulgarín, and the Calvian and finalist of Madrid Fusión, Juan Pinel, who have made a show-cooking for the attendees.
The Mayor highlighted that with this new edition, Calvià continues making the good offer in the gastronomic field of the municipality known and noted the importance of the gastronomy as a tool to diversify the tourist product. He thanked the presence of the invited cooks, and in general the work of all who make possible that the Mostra de Cuines is a reality. He ended his speech by encouraging residents and visitors to enjoy the gastronomic quality of the municipality.
Vicky Pulgarín has prepared a Majorcan version of Inca biscuits-based crumbs, sobrasada (Majorcan sausage), squid, almond and lime, all accompanied by homemade crackling. Juan Pinel has made a marine snack using an emulsion of purple patatoe, black garlic allioli, avocado puree with anchovy and marinated tuna, and coriander sprouts and fresh Spring onions. Vicky has been assisted by Gonzalo Ribot, who also participated in Masterchef; and Juan was assisted by Pere Terrassa, student of the School of Hospitality of the Balearic Islands.
In this new edition of the Mostra, 60 establishments will participate every Friday offering their best dishes, both at lunchtime and evening, with prices ranging between 10 and 16 euros. Some restaurants will also have a children's menu and an alternative menu. Table bookings in advance are recommended.
-8 restaurants of Ca's Català, Bendinat, Illetes, Portals and Costa d'en Blanes will participate on Friday 8th April.
-18 restaurants of Palmanova, Son Caliu, Magaluf and Son Ferrer will participate on Friday 15th April.
-22 restaurants of Santa Ponça, Costa de la Calma and Son Bugadelles will participate on Friday 22nd April.
-12 restaurants of Peguera, Cala Fornells, El Toro and Calvià will participate on Friday 29th April.

Vicky Pulgarín:
Winner of the second edition of the MasterChef cooking show of TVE. After the television experience, she trained in the kitchens of Le Cordón Bleu in Madrid and continued her training in some of the most prestigious restaurants awarded with Michelín stars (Bohío, Abac and Kabuki). While her training was ongoing, she managed to make a place for herself in the kitchens of Samantha catering of Spain. Once she obtained the Grand Diplome, and after working with the best and returning to Mallorca, she formed her own catering company: Vicky Pulgarín Catering.
Juan Pinel:
The young Calvian Juan Pinel, who studied at the Upper School of Hospitality and Tourism of Madrid, has participated this year in Madrid Fusión along with Fernando Pérez Arellano of the restaurant Zaranda in Es Capdellà (2 Michelín stars). After participating in the competition "Escoge tu pinche" (choose your kitchen helper) along with the prestigious chef, Pinel has accepted the opportunity that Arellano offered him to continue progressing as a professional, so he has moved back to Mallorca to work with him in the Zaranda restaurant during this season.
