The exhibition 'Calvià és cine' will open on the 16th of June at 7 pm in the exhibition hall of the Town Hall. The exhibition, that has been organized by the Department of Culture, will feature posters, leaflets, machinery of the Calvià cinemas and other material related to the presence of cinema in the village. The project "Calvià és cine" began during the Summer of 2015 with the collaboration of the 'Arxiu de So i Imatge' of the Consell de Mallorca and the Balearic Islands Film Commission. The project includes five main issues that are: projection of films, documentaries and short films that have been filmed in Calvià, recovery of the old cinemas of the village and remembrance of the people who managed them, elaboration of an inventory of celebrities who have stayed in Calvià, creating cultural routes related to cinema and other parallel activities.
