SAFETY FOR THE SANT JOAN NIGHT IN CALVIÀ
Local Police, Civil Protection, first-aid personnel, health services and Calvià 2000 will work to ensure that it's a night with plenty of fun but also responsible behaviour
The Town Council reminds everyone that is not allowed to camp on beaches
The different departments of the Calvià Town Hall have prepared a special safety presence for the Sant Joan Night, to prevent and deal with any incident that may occur, and so it's night with plenty of fun but also responsible behaviour.
The nocturnal unit of the Local Police will be reinforced that night with a special presence, so there will be a 50 agents at work. There will also be 22 members of Civil Protection at work that will cover different points of the celebration.
There will be first aid personnel (15 in total) distributed along the different beaches, 2 ambulances (one medicalized) that will be located in the areas of Palmanova and Peguera, plus the Ibsalut ambulance that is available in the municipality of Calvia. There will also be 2 firefighting vehicles.
The Town Council of Calvià calls residents and visitors who come to celebrate the Nit de Sant Joan to assist in keeping the beaches clean so that morning sunbathers can enjoy them. The Town Hall also reminds that people are not allowed to camp on beaches.
From 6 a.m. Calvià 2000 will clean the beaches with heavy machinery. The public company has also organised a special service for this night, with 55 workers on shift.
Some streets will be closed to traffic, so people will have to take alternative routes. The affected streets are:
-The Bulevar de Peguera, from the roundabout at the beginning to Niça street (22 to 24 h)
-Avda. Rei Jaume I of Santa Ponsa, from the roundabout (intersection with Puig de Galatzó street) to Lisboa street.
-Passeig del Mar of Palmanova from the junction with Avenida de la Platja to Pi street, as well as the direction towards the Palmanova roundabout from the Passeig del Mar.
