It has been held on the beach of Magaluf and the Illa de sa Porrassa

Rescue simulation exercise in Calvià.

The drill, which was held on the beach of Magaluf and the Illa de sa Porrassa, has consisted in responding to an accident at sea: impact of a parachute against the Illa de sa Porrassa, after disengaging from the boat, with the result of three wounded. Two of them have been evacuated by sea. The helicopter has been commissioned to evacuate from the island the most severe wounded to hospital.


About 30 people participated in this drill organised by the municipal emergency services:

 

Civil Protection, Water Activities Lifeguards / RESEM (responsible for the beach assignee), Local Police, CICOC (communications room of the Local Police), 112, Emergencies of Calvià, Maritime Rescue and extras.


The following means have been used: jet-ski, rescue vessel, support boat, own ambulances, Civil Protection and Local Police vehicles, Maritime Rescue helicopter and vessel.


The drill was attended by the Mayor Alfonso Rodríguez Badal; the Deputy Mayor for Security, Andreu Serra; the Magaluf Councillor, Alfonso Molina; as well as the head of the Government's Directorate General of Emergencies Department, Antoni Bernat; and the head of Maritime Rescue, Miguel Félix Chicón.

 

The drills are performed in compliance with the following decrees: Decree 2/2005 and Decree 27/2015 regulatory of the minimum safety and protection measures which the beaches and bathing areas of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands must obey.
