THE TRIATHLON CHALLENGE PEGUERA MALLORCA IS NOW FULLY BOOKED
The event which will take place on 15th October in Peguera will imply the displacement to the area of about 2.000 people between participants and family
The 82% of the participants are foreigners, the race counts on 32 nationalities, with triathletes of the United States, South Africa, Venezuela ...
The 3rd edition of Challenge Peguera Mallorca, the international triathlon race which is held entirely in Calvià, will take place on the forthcoming 15th October.
In 2016, the race is fully booked mainly thanks to the success of the two previous editions which has caused a positive current of opinion towards the race. Getting to sold out was one of the indicators set by the organisation to discuss the consolidation of the event.
From this moment, the team focuses all its efforts to offer everyone involved the best race experience possible as it is understood that this is the best strategy to keep adding for the next year.
The Pros are committed to close their season in CHMALLORCA
The organisation has received more than 100 requests from licensed professional triathletes to participate in the race. Thus, some of the most representative middle and long dinstance professional triathletes in the world will end their 2016 season in Challenge Peguera Mallorca, this is the case of Filip Ospaly (CZE) (Middle distance European champion in 2015 and winner of 7 IRONMAN) or Jocelyn McCauley (USA) (recent winner of the IM Mallorca).

Changes to make the race even more spectacular
The feedback received from the athletes from the two previous editions of the event have helped the organisation to implement crucial changes to improve the race. Some of the most important for the 2016 edition are as follows:
Place the transition area closer to the swimming area and finish line: it will allow participants and followers to enjoy a better race experience as they will have all areas in only 100 m.
Flatter and more spectacular running circuit: the slope has been reduced creating a tour through the most attractive places of the area, the beach promenade and boulevard.
Bike circuit: the elimination of the routes through the interior of Palmanova and Magaluf areas on the recommendation of the security forces.

Much more than an international triathlon race
In order to extend the stay of the participants and their families in the municipality while offering cultural leisure and sports proposals to the citizenship, the organisation has designed a comprehensive programme of activities for all families starting from Thursday 13th October and includes: nit de foc (night of fire), concerts, fireworks, women's race, children's activities, fair, etc.

Challenge Peguera Mallorca is a project organised in collaboration between Fundación Calvià 2004, Calvià Town Hall and the Hotel Association of Peguera and Cala Fornells. It also counts on the collaboration of the Government of the Balearic Islands through the ATB, the Spanish Federation and the Balearic Federation of triathlon, and other institutions and companies.
