THE TOWN HALL IMPLEMENTS A TRANSPORT SERVICE TO FACILITATE THAT DEPENDENT USERS CAN TRAVEL TO THE LLAR OF CALVIÀ

-The consistory signs a contract with Radio-taxi Calvià for the provision of the service on demand in which three different rates are established depending on the route

The Town Hall implements a transport service to facilitate that dependent users can move from their homes to the Llar of Calvià. In this regard, the Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has signed a contract with Radio-taxi Calvià to establish the conditions of service provision between the different areas of the municipality and the Llar. On the part of Radio-taxi, the contract has been signed by its president Fernando Luengo and by its vice president, Mª Carmen Navarro.

The relatives or responsibles of the dependent people in the municipality have to use private vehicle to go in the morning to the Llar and return mid-afternoon to pick them up and return to their homes without there being, at present, public internal transport that can perform this service in ideal conditions for this group. That is why it has been considered advisable to carry out a twelve-month pilot test with the implementation of this initiative to facilitate the movement of dependent people to the Llar.

The service will be carried out by means of transport on demand, that is, the service is only provided if it has been previously requested by the user or person responsible for the dependent registered in the municipality.

The expeditions to the Llar, necessary at the first hour, and the returns to the homes in the afternoon will be offered from Monday to Friday.

Three rates have been established depending on the type of route taken. The users will pay between 1 and 2 euros to make the trip. The Town Hall will contribute the remaining economic amount necessary to cover the cost of the services demanded discounting the collection for the sale of tickets to users.

The signing of the contract was also attended by the Deputy Mayor for Social Cohesion and Equality; Nati Francés, and the Deputy Mayor for Mobility, Roads and Works and Maintenance, Juan Cuadros.
