CALVIÀ TOWN HALL INITIATES THE CLOSURE DECREE OF ESTABLISHMENTS THAT ARE DEDICATED TO PROSTITUTION IN THE AREA OF PUNTA BALLENA

The Calvià Town Hall has begun the procedure to order the closure of establishments that, illegally, are dedicated to prostitution, with the decree notice given to them last night.

For months, the Local Police of Calvià and the Town Hall's Department of Activities have been conducting inspections at premises in Punta Ballena and its surroundings, whose activity does not conform to the terms of the license they have been granted with.

These are premises that under bar or café-concert licenses are dedicated to prostitution, and that are causing all kind of discomforts in the area.

Once enough evidence material was collected, and the failure to comply with public establishments regulations had been proven, the Town Hall decided to begin the closure of 6 premises: Apple, Bar Kandi, Opps, Red Rooms, Bar Touch and Jagger's.

After being notified, the premises involved have a period of 15 days to submit allegations. Once the closure decree is confirmed - if it is the case -, final closure will proceed.

The Town Hall reiterates that there is no going back on the path that has begun to change the model, and wants to convey a clear message of zero tolerance towards the excesses tourism that so much damage is causing to the resort and that so much discomfort causes to the neighbours of the area.

More actions are not excluded within this same line.
