13 YOUNG UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE FROM THE MUNICIPALITY HAVE FINISHED THEIR WORK AND TRAINING IN THE YOUTH GUARANTEE PROJECT "RUTES DE CALVIÀ II" OF CALVIÀ TOWN HALL
After 12 intense months of learning and work, the thirteen young people who have benefited from the Youth Guarantee programme in Calvià have completed a mixed project of training and employment that has been managed by Calvià Town Hall, through the IFOC, with the participation of the SOIB and the co-financing of the State Occupation Public Service and the European Social Fund.
This initiative called "Rutas Calvià II", consists of a programme aimed at U30 unemployed people, who through a training and learning contract, have developed works or services of different social interest, focused mainly on the value enhancement of the Galatzó Public Estate, an area with a high environmental, tourist, cultural and sporting value in the municipality.
At the training level, it should be noted that, as an improvement over the previous project, a double degree has been provided with regards to Professionalism Certificates; on the one hand, "Organisation of free time activities for children and youths", and on the other hand, "Guide for low and medium mountain itineraries".
During the first three months they have participated in the development of recreational-educational activities framed in the municipal project "Neula Parc", a family space during the Christmas holidays.
The remaining nine months have been helpful in offering other services related to the development and review of itineraries through the municipality to create resources and give support to schools and visitors interested in our natural and ethnological heritage.
It is also noteworthy the support for sports activities of the ICE and the Municipal Environment Department.
At the complementary training level, modules of labour insertion and job search, awareness raising on equal opportunities and environment, and, finally, computer literacy have been introduced.
All participants are currently registered in the IFOC Employment Agency so that their labour insertion is as fast and effective as possible.
The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal; the Deputy Mayor for Economy, Employment and Innovation, Maria Carmen Iglesias Manjón; the Vice President of IFOC Alfonso Rodríguez Sánchez; and the IFOC Manager, Darío Espallargas, wanted to accompany them on this special day, to wish them luck in the new path they undertake.
