The first edition of the Galatzó Trail, a spectacular trail running event that will take place entirely at the Galatzó public estate, will be held on the forthcoming Sunday 18
th March.

With departure and arrival at the village of Es Capdellà, the race participants face the mountain marathon and half marathon distances. The event is part of the Lliga de Curses per Muntanya de la Federació Balear de Muntanya i Escalada (FBME).

The organisation of the Galatzó Trail is very satisfied with the reception that the event has had in the trail runner community, both locally and internationally. Thus, for this first edition it was possible to hang the poster of complete in the middle distance race (400 participants). These numbers, added to the mountain marathon registrations (250 registered) exceeded the expectations that the organisation had set for this first edition. It also highlights the presence of about 20% of international participants in the event.

The route
The participants, who will start and finish the race at Plaça de Sa Vinya in Es Capdellà, will have to surpass some circuits that run entirely through one of the most beautiful places in the Serra de Tramuntana, the public estate of Galatzó.

-Galatzó Legend Route (43 km): it is a spectacular and hard route in which participants must crown two very technical peaks, s'Esclop (927 metres) and the mythical Puig des Galatzó (1,027 metres) mountains.

-Galatzó Half Route (22 km): this is a route that also departs from Es Capdellà and runs along some of the trails that connect the public estate. The participants will face levels of over 600 metres high in a fun and 100% mountainous circuit.

The competition will be refereed by the FBME and the participants will get 1,000 points if they run the Galatzó Legend and 500 points if they run the Galatzó Half.

Traffic cuts
The celebration of the Galatzó Trail entails some traffic and parking restrictions in the area of Es Capdellà, since the departure and finish line are in Plaça Sa Vinya. Ametllers street (C / Galatzó and C / Església) and Galatzó street (C / Ametllers – Galatzó Estate) will be the main affected roads, as they will be closed to the traffic from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., so alternative routes will be enabled.
