Calvià 2000 completes the wastewater pipelines renovation works in Las Palmeras (Costa de la Calma) pumping station
The impulsion pipes renovation works in the sewage pumping station of Avenida de Las Palmeras, in Costa de la Calma, have now been completed.
These works, which began in February, are included in the strategic objective of repairing trouble spots in the sanitation network, since this section had suffered several breakdowns and even spills into the sea last summer.
The works consisted on replacing the conduit's fibre cement section, which is over 30 years old, which runs from Las Palmeras pumping station to Avenida del Mar, through a same diametre polyethylene pipe. Thus, the risk of spills in this area is minimised, due to the proximity of the torrent and its outlet in a bathing area.
