STUDENTS OF THE MUNICIPALITY VISIT THE ASSEMBLY PROCESS OF THE MALLORCA LIVE FESTIVAL 2018 WHICH IS HELD IN CALVIÀ ON 11TH AND 12 TH MAY

They have discovered firsthand aspects surrounding the event such as the large number of people working during the two days of concert, or the measures taken to reduce waste and the technologies used.

Fifty pupils in 5th year of primary education of the CEIP Son Ferrer have had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the old Magaluf Aquapark where the Mallorca Live Festival 2018 will be held, on 11
th and 12th May, and see first-hand how a festival of this magnitude is organised.

With the organised visit, the 10 and 11 year-old children have been able to discover that, behind 20 hours of live music, there are 400 people of different professions who work for 10 days in the assembly and disassembly of the event that goes beyond being just a musical festival, since it is conceived as an experience that includes art, gastronomy and music, in a comfortable area and with all kinds of services so that visitors can satisfy all kinds of leisure and cultural needs.

They have also been explained that the festival takes into account aspects of respect for the environment, that is why minimising waste has been planned by using reusable cups, to avoid the distribution of single-use disposable cups. There will also be selective collection containers provided by Calvià 2000 and 'colillómetros' so that cigarette butts are not thrown on the ground, and an information point on environmental awareness of the Red Cross will be installed inside the premises. Another of the expected aspects is that all the food left over from artists and production will be donated to an association and within the management and ethical control performances of feral colonies in the municipality an urban art action will be carried out by painting glass containers provided by Calvià 2000 that will be used as a cat's home.

The children have been able to verify that Mallorca Live is a technological festival since everything works with a cashless payment system, without the need to use physical money, and that everything will go on a bracelet chip. In addition, 3G and 4G reinforcement will be provided so that everyone can share their experience in social media.

The students of 5th grade of the CEIP Son Ferrer have discovered firsthand the dimensions of the different infrastructures: stages, marquees, public space, etc., comparing them with real spaces. That is to say, it has been explained to them that the stage is as big as 2 football fields or that 10 Olympic swimming pools fit in this space.

The visit ended with a group photo from the main stage and they were given a merchandising pack gift.
