BALANCE OF THE TOURIST SEASON IN PALMANOVA-MAGALUF
The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, attended the press conference organised by the Hotel Association of Palmanova-Magaluf, which took stock of the tourist season in which have spoken, in addition to the mayor, the president of the Hotel Association of Palmanova-Magaluf, Sebastián Darder; the head of the Local Police of Calvià, Justino Trenas, and the lieutenant commander of the Civil Guard main post of Calvià, Eduardo Herrero.
The mayor, in his speech, has highlighted, amongst other aspects, the investments that have been implemented in the municipality, such as the renewal of Galió Street, and those that are planned, such as the imminent renewal of the athletics track or Paris St. in Palmanova and the streets of Torrenova that are pending of tender.
He highlighted, on the other hand, the destination promotion work that is being carried out, with activities such as the organisation of the travel bloggers visit this weekend or the special emphasis that will be placed this year on the MICE conventions and congresses tourism.
He has also referred to the efforts that are being made to eradicate drunkenness tourism, and has set the most recent example with the agreement that has been signed with APEAM to avoid the celebration of party boats.
He has also highlighted the Smart Tourism Destination project and the Red.es investment of 4 million euros, as well as the political work that is being carried out in the Tourist Municipalities Alliance, with the demand of important investments for mature destinations.
