ATP Mallorca Championships, the first tennis tournament to measure its carbon footprint
Both, ATP Mallorca Championships and Ecovidrio presented the audit project which will allow to measure the water, carbon and environmental footprint of this tennis tournament to make it the first to control its impact on the planet and reduce it, year after year, in its next editions.
The mayor of Calvià, during the presentation ceremony, indicated that it is essential that the organisation of the event understands that nothing will have a future if it is not accompanied by environmental and social sustainability. Alfonso Rodríguez Badal also highlighted the importance of adding as a tourist seal, as an image, the quality of the destination and the product with events such as ATP Mallorca Championships. The event was also attended by the mayor of Palma, José Hila; the regional minister for Economic Model, Tourism and Labour, Iago Negueruela; and José Luis Magro, Ecovidrio marketing manager.
