TRAFFIC AND PARKING
On 13th March 2022, the Galatzó Trail mountain sports event will take place in Es Capdellà.
Holding this event involves some traffic and parking restrictions in Es Capdellà area, since the start and finish lines are in Plaça de Sa Vinya (C. Església).

TRAFFIC INFORMATION
Streets closed (from 7.30 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
C/ Església – Ma-1032 (between C/ Major and C/ Ametllers), C/ Ametllers (C/ Galatzó and C/ Església), C/ Galatzó (C/ Ametllers – Galatzó Estate).
Traffic diversions
From 7.30 a.m. to 6 p.m., the section of the MA1032 road between C/ Major and C/ Ametllers will be closed to traffic in both directions. Traffic will be diverted to C/ Ametllers (between C/ Església and C/ Monges) and C/ Monges.
Parking restrictions
C/ Ametllers (C/ Galatzó and C/ Església), C/ Galatzó (C/ Ametllers – Galatzó Estate), C/ Església (between C/ Major and C/ Ametllers), C/ Monges (between C/ Major and C/ Ametllers), C/ Ametllers (C/ Monges and C/ Església).
GALATZÓ TRAIL 5TH EDITION ARRIVES
● Almost 700 athletes will participate next Sunday in the Calvià Mountain Race
● The Galatzó Half (23.7 km) has sold out all the entries (450)
● More than 20% of the participants will be international athletes
There are few hours left for the 5th edition of GALATZÓ TRAIL to start. The mountain race organised by Fundación Calvià 2004 in collaboration with Calvià Town Hall, will include this Sunday at the Galatzó Public Estate almost 700 participants between the two distances: Galatzó Half (23.7 km) and Galatzó Legend (43 km).
In this fifth edition, the number of runners from outside the Balearic Islands is significant, which has increased compared to previous editions and stands at around 25% of the total, which consolidates this race as an asset in the fight against the tourist seasonality of the area.
All ready
The bibs are ready. The route, marked. And those who are going to participate are already fully charged to face the mountain marathon and half marathon that make up the Galatzó Trail. The event takes place in the spectacular Serra de Tramuntana and offers a unique landscape, especially from the peaks of S'Esclop and Galatzó, the two peaks present in the Galatzó Legend circuit. The organisation expects the event to be a complete success thanks to the involvement of the participants, the more than 100 people who make up the volunteering team, the environment and the collaborations, since the numbers of the first edition have already improved.
GALATZÓ LEGEND
The 43-km race will start at 8.30 a.m. It will be the first time that the participants will face the new route, which incorporates important changes compared to previous editions, and which runs almost entirely through the Galatzó public estate. In the race, the participants must crown the peaks of s'Esclop and Galatzó. The incorporation of the Camí de Sa Font Nova will serve to offer a much more spectacular GALATZÓ LEGEND.
GALATZÓ HALF
The start of the Galatzó Half will be at 9.30 a.m. and the 450 participants will also face a new route, improved, more demanding, very visual, and that incorporates the need to crown a peak, s'Esclop (927 m).
Animation on the day and all services
The organisation has intensified efforts to create a lively start and finish line. During the day on Sunday, attendees will enjoy, in addition to the race, different children's activities, batucadas (drums), DJs and sales stands.
As usual, the Galatzó Trail service catalogue will include all the essentials (provisioning, timing, classifications, cloakroom, showers, etc.) and some that have become a tradition in the race, such as the GIANT FIDEUÀ that all the people completing the route will be able to taste along with a selection of Majorcan products.
The Peguera and Calvià transfer service will prevent the small village of Es Capdellà, which hosts the race start and finish line, from having too much traffic.
PARALLEL ACTIVITIES
Galatzó Trail incorporates different activities in addition to the two main races, these are the most outstanding proposals:
Saturday 12th March at 10 a.m.: CHILDREN'S RACE. The Galatzó estate hosts a race with different distances in which girls and boys between 0 and 17 years old can participate.
Sunday 13th March in the Plaça de Sa Vinya in Es Capdellà

• 11 a.m. Children's and traditional games

A community project
Galatzó Trail is an example of institutional collaboration and citizen entities. Organised by Fundación Calvià 2004 and Calvià Town Hall, it is sponsored by Fundació Mallorca Turisme. Clubs and entities of the municipality of Calvià participate in the event through the contribution of volunteers for the management of key services (provisioning, race control, participant services...).
