Normality in the return to classrooms in Calvià
There have been no incidents to be highlighted
During the course of the school year, activities are planned to learn about municipal history and heritage
The 2023-2024 academic year is already underway. The Calvià students have joined the classrooms on a day characterised by normality, since there have been no incidents worthy of note.
Calvià has established a device to provide special police coverage on this first day of the school year. The municipality has 10 public CEIPs (primary education schools), 3 IES (mandatory secondary education schools) and three private centres: Agora Portals in Costa d'en Blanes, King Richard in Portals Nous, and BIC (Baleares International College) in Magaluf.
Two police officers have been stationed in some centres, as they have more than one pedestrian crossing or a considerable number of students. These centres are: Jaume I in Palmanova, Cas Saboners in Magaluf, Puig de Sa Morisca in Santa Ponça, Agora Portals in Costa d'en Blanes; and Bendinat (CEIP and IES are facing each other).
During the course of the academic year, various activities are planned for schoolchildren to learn about the municipal history and heritage of Calvià, especially at the Galatzó Public Estate and at the Puig de Sa Morisca Archaeological Park. The Town Hall has proposed that Calvià schools include activities of this nature to complement students' learning about environmental values and thus familiarise them with the flora and fauna, as well as with the history of the municipality.
