CALVIÀ PROMOTES CYCLING AND WALKING ROUTES ON SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY DAY
The European day will have a wide range of activities aimed especially at children and young people
The Mobility Day and Fair will be held in Calvià on 23rd September as part of the European Mobility Week. The meeting point will be at the Municipal Tax Office, from where a family cycle ride along the Promenade with the Calvià Cycling Club starting at 9 a.m. and a quarter of an hour later, a popular walk from Palmanova to Bendinat, with the collaboration of the Marxaires de Calvià will take place. Another starting point to celebrate Mobility Day is Es Generador, from where the departure is scheduled for a youth excursion to Na Burguesa antennas, from where a large part of the Calvian municipality can be seen. All activities require prior registration.
The Mobility Fair in the 2023 edition will start at 10 a.m. and will finish at 2 p.m. A children's road safety education park will be installed around the Municipal Tax Office, in collaboration with the Local Police and the Calvià Cycling Club. There will also an area for children's games, a bouncy castle, and Lila recycled games. Another option is to take a ride on an electric mini train through Palmanova, which will depart from Avenida de la Playa and Plaza París, these routes can be booked.
The day will include music with songs and popular games by Petitxandongos and with storytelling sessions, at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., in addition to the BiblioRoulotte service of Calvià Libraries. Finally, people will be able to enjoy an exhibition of electric bicycles from the Rad International of Peguera.
