Calvià Town Hall sets the goal of recovering Civil Protection volunteers, who in recent years have gone from 70 to 7
Esperanza Català points to a recruitment campaign and the need to "value" volunteers

Recovering the Civil Protection muscle in Calvià, that is one of the objectives of the Town Hall as announced on Friday by the first Deputy Mayor responsible for Security, Esperanza Catalá. In statements during an interview on the 4Directe programme on Channel 4, she explained the situation in which the municipal Executive found the Civil Protection: «the group had almost 70 volunteers years ago and right now there are only 7 left. A municipality like Calvià "needs the best Civil Protection."

Català has decided to launch a campaign to recruit volunteers: "we are on our way, I aim in this term to reach the number of volunteers we had, the population deserves it." "We are talking about volunteers who should be valued and who do magnificent work," she recalled.

After promoting the plainclothes officers unit in the Local Police, Català recognises that she always had the recovery of the Civil Protection in mind "we have more than 50 festivities scheduled for next year in addition to large events in which the Police Local, Civil Protection and Town Hall workers are essential.
