IFOC also closed the programmes for Social and Professional Integration and presented the new Employment Workshop Galatzó III, and the professional courses for beginners (CAPI)
Calvià Town Hall, by way of the Institute of Formation and Employment of Calvià (IFOC), closed the Employment Workshop Galatzó II and the programmes for Social and Professional Integration (ISLA), on the afternoon of Wednesday, 15th October. At the same time, the new Employment Workshop Galatzó III, and the professional courses for beginners (CAPI) were presented.
The Employment Workshop Galatzó II, started last year with 16 people. They have learned the building of dry stone walls and forestery, carrying out tasks for the re-conditioning of the Galatzó Estate e.g. constructing paths and walls, and cleaning and restoring ethnographic and archaeological elements. Also in 2007, the "ISLA" programmes began with 45 students split into three categories : refrigeration & air conditioning specialist, trainee mechanic and clerical assistant.
During the course of the presentation, the new Employment Workshop Galatzó III was introduced. It will begin on the 20th of this month, the objective being to train people in the fields of maintenance of buildings and restoration of heritage and deteriorated areas. The professional courses for beginners (CAPI), this year include plumbing, domestic heating/air-conditioning (16 pupils enrolled), trainee car electronics mechanic (17 pupils enrolled) and clerical studies (17 pupils enrolled).
