The Calvià Town Hall will put forward a total of fourteen plots of municipal land for auction, with a view to using the proceeds for various projects of general interest.


Having been approved in the last plenary session of 27th November, the plots will be put forward for auction for a total of 10,5 million euros, which will be used, together with the proceeds of another public auction in 2006 of another plot of Golf Santa Ponça, for the completion of several projects like the construction of subsidised housing; the construction of a rugby pitch in the Son Caliu sports centre; the purchase of a plot of land in Costa d'en Blanes for open air sports and leisure facilities; the construction of a pedestrian pathway and bicycle lane parallel to the Calvià-Es Capdellà road; improvements to the Calvià and Palmanova nursery schools and the "ARI" of Calvià and Es Capdellà, amongst other plans which will be beneficial to all Calvià residents.


The only criteria for the tender of the plots being put up for public auction will be the price. They are situated in Cas Català Nou, Costa d'en Blanes, Bahía de Palma, El Toro, Costa de la Calma, Peguera and Cala Fornells and form a total surface of 24.299 sq. metres.
