- The Puig de sa Morisca Archaeological Park will host the screening of the documentary ‘Catalina i Magaluf’ on Saturday 15th March, followed by a talk and a colloquium with specialists and protagonists
On Saturday 15th March, at 7 p.m., the Puig de sa Morisca Archaeological Park will be the scenario for a day dedicated to the history of Magaluf and its evolution over time. Through the documentary Catalina i Magaluf, directed by Maria Pujalte Aleñar, attendees will be able to learn about the history of the first house built in Magaluf in 1930 and the transformation process of this emblematic area of Mallorca. The documentary stars Catalina Feliu, the owner of the house and a witness to the changes in the town.
The event will also feature the talk "Una terrassa amb vistes" by Dr. María Sebastián, a professor at the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB), who will analyse the urban and tourist evolution of Magaluf, offering an academic perspective on the changes experienced in recent decades.
To close the day, a colloquium will be held with the participation of the director of the documentary, the protagonist, specialists in history and urban planning, as well as local residents, who will share their experiences and reflections on the past and future of Magaluf. Finally, attendees will be able to enjoy a small snack and wine in a relaxed atmosphere that will allow for a more relaxed conversation.
This activity, organised as part of the local heritage dissemination, is open to the general public and is free of charge, although prior registration is required. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the lesser-known history of Magaluf and reflect on its identity and evolution.
