Both, the Balearic Canoeing Federation and the Calvià Sports Institute organise the XXVI edition of 'Volta Illes Malgrats en Piragua', framed within the Rei en Jaume festivities, which will be held at Santa Ponça beach.
The 'Volta a les Illes Malgrats' is a race in the sea with canoe and is divided into two distances depending on the category of the people registered and, it is also a classic crossing of the Rei en Jaume festivities that consists of going around the Illes (islands) as its name indicates. The same route will be used in the long distance for both, competition and popular categories:
Short distance: approximately 3000 metres
Categories: SS1 Children's male and female
Departure: 10 a.m.
Long distance: 8230 metres approximately
Categories: SS2, popular start, SUP, traditional, youth, U23, senior and veterans
Departure: 10.30 a.m.
Registration will be open from 10th August on the website www.fibp.org. You can also register on the same day of the race on Santa Ponçsa beach at about 8.30 a.m. The registration cost for non-federated will be 5€. The collection of numbers will also be on Santa Ponça beach from 08.30 a.m.
Medals will be given to the winners and all participants will have water and fruit at their disposal at the end of the race.
