This summer, Calvià has a total of four specially-conditioned beaches for the disabled: Son Maties, Palmanova, Santa Ponça and El Toro.

4 accessible beaches in Calvià.

Calvià Town Hall continues to work tirelessly on the improvement of the municipality's beaches, with a view to providing their users with the best quality possible. We can now add to the many improvements carried out in previous years the adaptation work done this year on the beaches of El Toro and Santa Ponça to facilitate access for the disabled. This summer Calvià has a total of four specially-conditioned beaches, as, besides the two already mentioned, Son Maties and Palmanova also have special facilities.

Other improvements carried out this season are the renovation of two “fun” platforms on the Son Maties and Es Carregador (Palmanova) beaches; the repair work on showers, renovation of the life guard stations, where necessary, and the pruning of palm trees on the Peguera and Santa Ponça beaches.

The renovation of the two “fun” platforms has been the culmination of the project for improvement of these infrastructures, as those pertaining to the Santa Ponça, Magaluf and Palmanova beaches were done last summer. Over the course of the last few weeks, cleaning and embellishment work has been carried out on the green belts of the beaches, cleaning of the garden areas and maintenance work on the installations.

  • Son Matias Beach

Has special shower and toilet facilities exclusively for the disabled. Also a pathway for access to the sea, shaded area, toilets, car park and designated bathing area.

  • Palmanova Beach

As with Son Maties, is completely adapted with easy access for the disabled. There is a pathway for access to the sea, shaded area, toilets, car park and designated bathing area.

  • El Toro Beach

Throughout the course of this year, within the municipality's plan for improving beaches, the El Toro beach has been provided with an access ramp for the disabled, and also shower and toilet facilities for both the disabled and other users. A wooden pathway has been built, reaching all the way to the water's edge.

  • Santa Ponça Beach

This year a wooden pathway has been installed which stretches all the way from the main entrance of the beach to the water's edge. This new facility is in compliance with the regulations for specially-conditioned beaches. There are also adapted toilet facilities.
