They could know the work of the Taller Galatzó III students have been made at Public

Calvià Town Hall, in collaboration with the municipality's "Institute of Training and Employment" (Institut de Formació i Ocupació de Calvià - IFOC), has organised, this week, an open day at the Galatzó country estate for businessmen of the municipality.

The idea of this day was conceived with two fundamental objectives:

  • firstly, to enable the businessmen to have first hand knowledge of the work being carried out there by the students taking part in the third Galatzó employment workshop (Taller de Empleo Galatzó III), with a view to contracting them in the future.

  • secondly, to give the students an opportunity to have direct contact with the world of commerce and become familiar with which skills are most highly valued by companies, when looking for new employees.

The third Galatzó employment workshop (El Taller de Empleo Galatzó III) is a mixed programme of employment and training which combines a formation of theory and practice with work experience, providing the participants with a professional diploma.

At present the IFOC is carrying out two specialities within the third Galatzó employment workshop (Taller de Empleo Galatzó III), with a total of 16 students: they are "maintenance of buildings' interiors" (Mantenimiento de Interiores de Edificios) and "restoration of abandoned areas" (Restauración de Áreas Degradadas).

Feedback from the businessmen who attended the function, organised by the IFOC, was very positive. They all found it very useful, and promised to recommend it to other companies.
