The aim is to help reduce running costs for these specially adapted vehicles
The Mayor of Calvià, Carlos Delgado, this morning presented a total of 4 grants, for a total of 6.010 euros, to the owners of four specially adapted "Eurotaxis", with a view to helping to reduce the running costs of these vehicles, which often have to make journeys with no passengers in order to meet the requirements of people with reduced mobility.
The annual presentation of these grants is part of an agreement signed by Calvià Town Hall, the ONCE Foundation and IMSERSO (holidays for senior citizens) to provide a taxi service with specially adapted vehicles.
The grants given to four licence holders were proportional to the services provided for disabled passengers between 1st November, 2008 and 31st October, 2009.
