The residents of the municipality of Calvià, with children in Infant School, Primary & Secondary (obligatory) will benefit, once again, this year 2010 from the grants for purchasing text books, which have been given by the Calvià Town Hall for the last four years, via IMEB (Instituto Municipal de Educación y Bibliotecas – Department of Education & Libraries). As in previous campaigns, applications should be submitted during the month of June, and the grants will be paid at the end of August, before the books are purchased.
Calvià Town Hall was the pioneer of the Balearics with this initiative for the 2006/2007 term.
Since then, IMEB has given more than 2.865.000 euros.
The grants, which range from 35 to 65 euros in Infant School to between 110 and 150 euros in Primary Education to between 200 and 225 euros in obligatory Secondary Education, help families with the huge expense they are met with when the schools return after the summer holidays.
Applications can be submitted between 1st & 30th June in any of the established locations and hours, mentioned in the chart attached.
Applications should be submitted in the Town Hall, from the 1st to the 30th September, for those pupils who were born in 1993 or 1994 and continue with their ESO (Obligatory Secondary Education) studies.
