The Mayor Carlos Delgado inaugurated the redesigned 18.248 square metres adjusted green zone, which includes: the children's playground, the open air skating rink and the new social meeting point.
Son Caliu has inaugurated its biggest green area. The Mayor of Calvià, Carlos Delgado, inaugurated together with the Councillor for the area of Son Caliu, Eloína Mora, the redesigned green zone, last Friday: 18.248 square metres which has a social meeting point , playground equipment and a skating area providing the neighbours, a space for leisure , sport, and social exchange, amongst others.
The adjustments started last year, in the month of May and have used more than 260.000 euros investment. Apart from the playground equipment fittings, a social meeting area has been created with 1.560 square metres surface providing a platform to use as a support space for mobile stages and a skating area with a small ramp which has two different heights.
Within this green space it is to be mentioned other different projects carried out in the area such as : the creation of a sport area with a 7 aside football pitch, a sports track, a petanque court, changing rooms, the installation of a sound protection screen on the motorway or the new motorway access and exit roads. Also, the new library in Es Generador was created, the Senior Citizens premises which has been reformed and improvements in the urban environment and in the main water and sanitation.
Finally, it is to be mentioned that Son Caliu will count in a short period of time with an approved rugby pitch and an indoor heated swimming-pool.
