The Polish runner wins this race for the third consecutive year and in which José Antonio Requejo and Martin Skalsky finished 2nd and 3rd respectively
With a 2 hours 22:31 record, the Polish runner Miereczko, obtained the first place at the marathon celebrated in Calvià last Sunday. Miereczko achieved, therefore, his third consecutive victory as he also was first in the two previous editions. After him, and seven minutes later, José Antonio Requejo from Burgos, arrived at the finish line located at the athletics track in Magaluf. The bronze was for Martin Skalsky.
In women, Helen Taranowski crossed the finish line in first place (eighth absolute qualified) with a 2 hours 54:18 record, followed by Claire Imrie and Christine Costiff in third place.
In half marathon, the ADA Calvià runner, Guillem Duran took the stand on the podium with a 1 hour 08:23 record , followed by the runner Toumi Dahmani and Darren Mcneelly who arrived third.
On his side, Jonathan Gómez, also from ADA Calvià, was first in the 10.000 metre race. After him, Pablo Campillo from CA Palma and Joaquín Dosantos (Toscaf), in second and third place respectively.
A special prize was given, during the prize giving, chaired by the Mayor Carlos Delgado, who was accompanied by the Deputy Mayor for Sports, Manolo Grillé; the ICE manager; Manuel Onieva and Juan Luis Magnier, CAM representative, sponsor of the event, to the mountaineer and athlete, Tolo Calafat, who died this year, after arriving to the Annapurna summit, for his human and sport courage.
