The participant groups of the Rei En Jaume 2011 Festivities chose their representatives: the Rei En Jaume will be Victor Coll de Cervelló and the Rei Abu Yahya, Vicente Sosa de Al Ándalus.
665 representatives of the 20 groups who will be participating in the Rei en Jaume Festivities in 2011, were witnesses at the election ceremony of both Kings, Rei en Jaume and Rei Abu Yahya, which took place at the Molino de Calvià Fairground, last night.
Two were the candidates to represent the Rei en Jaume during the festivities, Victor Coll of the Cervelló group and Tomeu Suau of the Berenguer de Palou group, whereas other four candidates aspired to be the main representatives of the Saracen side; Cristina Álvarez from the Ali Oli group, Esperanza Vich from the Muhammad Ali group, José Rios from the Isamaq group and Vicente Sosa from the Al Ándalus group.
The candidates fought in the different tests through which they had to show their skills, their leadership capacity, their calmness, their oratory and aboveall their charisma.
The candidates to King made all the attendants enjoy with their four tests, "The motivation of a King”, "The popularity of a King", "The skills of a King" and "The leadership of a King”.
Victor Coll, representative of the Cervelló group was chosen as the Rei En Jaume in 2011, whereas Vicente Sosa of the Al Ándalus group was converted in the King Abu Yahya 2011.
The event came to a close with a multitudinous dinner in which the representatives of the different groups fraternized and challenged for the following battles.
