The Calvià Town Hall, through Calvià 2000, has presented this morning, the layout of twenty containers spread around the municipality for the collection of used clothing which the company Texmilca will administrate after gaining a tender to provide this service.
Texmilca commits itself to donate 700 kg of selected clothing with the aim of satisfying the needs of the consistory´s Social Services. The rest of objects collected will be taken to repair and then to the countries in need, as well as for recycling.
On the other hand, it is expected that the annual monetary compensation for the municipal treasury will be of 30.000 euros, as the company will pay 210€ per container and 0,06€ per Kg of clothes placed inside the wagons.
The agreement signed agrees the layout of containers for the collection of used clothing depending on the instructions of the municipal services company and there is an open possibility of increasing the number of containers.
