The restoration of the naveta Alemany is included in the municipality´s Historical Heritage restoration project developed by the consistory.

The Calvià Town Hall, within its destationalisation strategy and the creation of a sustainable tourism, has developed a project of restoration of the Historical Heritage of the municipality and within this complete intervention framework, one of the most emblematic archaeological sites in Calvià is included, the naveta Alemany.

The archaeological site was one of the first excavated in Calvià and is one of the most ancient archaeological remains of the municipality which date from 1.800 B.C. The naveta Alemany is a prehistoric house with the shape of an enlongated horseshoe.

The working plan has been established depending on three action lines: excavation and reexcavation of the whole archaeological site, adapt the area to public visits and the indication of all the work carried out.

The restoration of one of the most important archaeological sites of Calvià, has been the outcome of this project, an intervention which will allow to increase the siteseeing of the monuments existing in the municipality and thus, favour the diversification of the spaces to both, residents and tourists.

This project means an important novelty as, for the first time, through the collaboration agreement between the owners and the Calvià Town Hall, the restoration of a private archaeological site and adapt it to free public visits has been possible.

The visit of the naveta Alemany by the pupils of the municipality, already included in the Town Hall´s educational offer, will take place in the forthcoming months, once the restoration of said archaeological site is concluded.
