The new measuring formula will transmit details with no need of displacements or intermediaries allowing on-line consults by the Local Police.

This morning, the Calvià Town Hall presented a new sound limiter system in order to limit the sound in business establishments, framed within the new Municipal Noise By-law, with which it is expected to, in a simple way, detect immediately the disturbing data without displacements or intermediaries.

The By-law defines the minimum characteristics that a sound limiter should have in order to, with its installation, carry out a complete management of the noisy activities produced. This management will mean the saving of both, time and resources as the systems will allow on-line consults by the Local Police who will have at their disposal complete information of the various noisy activities and who will be able to know at every moment what is happening in every business premises with sound limiters installed.

Limiters will work through a sound level meter which is installed in the establishment, taking samples constantly of the noise level produced, differentiating two blocks: the sound emitted by the sound equipments and the sound emmitted by the global environment.

The noise generated by the sound equipment gets recorded in the limiter register for the corresponding information, working as a black box, as all the details are registered. When the legal limit of sound established exceeds, the system will diminish the volume and if the overlimit of more than 50 decibels persists, then the system will cease the music for a few minutes.

Once again, the Calvià Town Hall commits itself to a superior quality, thus becoming the first municipality in the Balearic Islands using this system, which expects the reduction in the number of complaints received in the consistory with regards to noise.
